Two Men Formally Indicted for Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the jailhouse death of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per law enforcement officials.

Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were seized.
