The visitors had taken the lead at Gillette Stadium with QB Justin Fields scoring a five-yard TD to cap the New York's opening drive
But the home team responded in the second period as the rookie ran in two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Maye at the rear of the endzone midway through the third quarter to push the score to 21-7
"That was a crucial moment for him rising to the challenge, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback said of the rookie. "He desires to be excellent."
Justin Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to reduce the lead for the Jets but Borregales converted a pair of field goals in the final period as the home side wrapped up the win
